 on\, social bonding\, narrative pleasure\, imagination\, competition or wa
 lking the edge of losing control. Games are played in short bursts or long
  sessions. In the spare time\, while commuting\, in breaks and at work. Go
 od games may even alter your views and perceptions. \nECGBL 2014 will offe
 r an opportunity for the presentation of research\, theory\, application\,
  practice and validation in the field of Game-Based Learning. \nThe 2nd In
 ternational Educational/Serious Games Competition will be hosted at the co
 nference in Berlin\, too. \nCall for papers will close on 20th March 2
 014. The conference committee welcomes contributions on a wide range of to
 pics using a range of scholarly approaches including theoretical and empir
 ical papers employing qualitative\, quantitative and critical methods. Act
 ion research\, case studies and work-in-progress/posters are welcomed appr
 oaches. PhD Research\, proposals for roundtable discussions\, non-academic
  contributions and product demonstrations based on the main themes are als
 o invited.
