Die Uni Hamburg bietet im Sommersemester 08 eine Ringvorlesung mit dem Thema **Medien & Bildung: Die digitale Zukunft der Universität** an. Anliegen der Veranstaltung ist es, ein interdisziplinäres Bezugsfeld zu erkunden, das von der Philosophie über die Kunst-, Medien- und Kulturwissenschaften bis zur Informatik reicht und einen Raum eröffnet für Diskussionen um pädagogisch-praktische wie bildungstheoretische Implikationen von Medien als Mittel und als Gegenstand der Auseinandersetzung von Ich und Welt. Im 14-täglichen Wechsel tragen beginnend ab dem 8. April Vertreter verschiedener Disziplinen Ihre Überlegungen zum Thema vor. Die zwischenliegenden Termine sind Studierenden der Erziehungswissenschaft vorbehalten.

The 6th International Conference on Human System Learning Common Innovation in e-learning, Machine Learning and Humanoid observes that, Machine Learning, Humanoid (mainly Human Robot Interaction) and e-Learning system have in common a real complex challenge: What learning has become? Der 3. Internationale SCIL-Kongress steht unter dem Motto "The changing face of Learning – Creating the right balance". Gesucht wird nach einer Lösung wie tablierte Konzepte und innovative Strategien des Lehrens und Lernens ins Gleichgewicht gebracht werden können. Diskutiert werden sollen u.a. die Bedürfnisse verschiedener Lern-Generationen und -Typen und die Frage nach dem richtigen Mix an Lernformen. Einsendeschluss für Einreichungen ist der 15. Die 6. Wismarer Wirtschaftsinformatik-Tage (WIWITA) sind eine der seit Jahren stattfindenden IT-Konferenzen in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Ziel der WIWITA ist es, Wirtschaft, Verwaltung und Hochschulen zusammenzubringen, d.h. ein Forum für Anwender, Entwickler und Forscher im IT-Bereich zu bieten. Die WIWITA finden in diesem Jahr im Rahmen des 100-Jahre-Jubiläums der Hochschule Wismar statt.

Die Open Source Expo in Karlsruhe will als Plattform für den Informations- und Ideenaustausch mit Entwicklern, IT-Fachleuten und Unternehmen, die im Bereich Open Source tätig sind, dienen. eLearning Africa is the premier gathering place for all experts and stakeholders engaged or interested in ICT-based education, training and development on the African continent. Everyone concerned with eLearning in Africa is welcome to share and learn. We encourage practitioners and academics engaged in an African context to apply by submitting a proposal. 5th European Semantic Web Conference - The vision of the Semantic Web is to enhance today's Web via the exploitation of machine-processable metadata. This metadata, enriched with domain theories (Ontologies) and knowledge-based tools to process metadata and semantics, will enable a Web that provides a qualitatively new level of service. Selbstorganisiertes Lernen umfasst Lernformen, die Lernenden im Vergleich zu traditionellen Bildungsszenarien ein größeres Maß an Selbstbestimmung einräumen: Selbstbestimmtes Lernen gibt den Lernenden die Möglichkeit die Auswahl von Inhalten (was wird gelernt?) und die Lernziele (woraufhin?) eigenständig mitbestimmen zu können. Heutzutage wird diese Art des Lernens zunehmend von interaktiven Lernumgebungen im Internet und dem Einsatz von Social Software (z.B. Wikis, Weblogs, E-Portfolios, Social Bookmarks, YouTube, FaceBook, Flickr u.ä.) unterstützt, das Internet kann sogar als „Ort des informellen Lernens“ bezeichnet werden.

Addressing Intercultural Learning - The 2008 *EDEN Annual Conference* in Lisbon focuses on the significance and impact of /cultural issues in distance and e-learning development/ in Europe and beyond. Noch bis zum 7. April können Papers für die **E-Learning Baltics** eingereicht werden. Die Konferenz besteht aus vier Teilen: einer wissenschaftlichen Konferenz (eLBa Science), einem Anwenderforum (eLBa Business) sowie einem Messe- und einem Workshopteil. Themenschwerpunkte der eLBa Science sind u. a. E-Learning im Arbeitsprozess, Computergestütztes kooperatives Lernen und Game-Based-Learning.

Die ** Learning World ** will mit den programmatischen Schwerpunkten "Innovation.Integration.Inspiration" unter anderem organisatorische Aspekte des Learning Managements, Mobiles Lernen (u.a. Podcast Workshop) sowie Best Practises aus dem Unternehmens- und Hochschulumfeld thematisieren. Die IADIS Multi Conference on Computer Science and Informations Systems MCCSIS 2008 spannt dieses Jahr ein breitgefächertes Themenspektrum rund um die Schwerpunkte Informatik und Informationssysteme auf. Die 7. Internationale ILIAS-Konferenz findet gemeinsam mit dem Fernausbildungskongress der Bundeswehr an der Helmut-Schmidt-Universität in Hamburg statt.

ALT-C 2008 wird die komplexen Dichotomien untersuchen, vor die Bürger, Bildungsanbieter und Gesellschaft in Bezug auf Lerntechnologien gestellt werden. Hauptredner sind David Cavallo, Itiel Dror und Hans Rosling. Einreichungen werden bis zum 29. Februar 2008 angenommen.

Die Tagung, die dieses Jahr in Krems stattfinden wird, steht unter dem Motto „Offener Bildungsraum Hochschule: Freiheiten und Notwendigkeiten“. Konkret sollen Entwicklungen wie Social Software, Web 2.0, mobile learning und die "open"-Strömungen, i.e. open educational resources, open content, open access und open innovation und deren Bedeutung für Lehr- Lernprozesse sowie für die Forschung diskutiert werden. The "Third " After the two successful EC-TEL conferences (European Conference on Technology Enhanced Learning) organized in 2006 and 2007 by the ProLearn network, we invite all researchers across the different fields of TEL (education, psychology, computer science,…) to contribute to the scientific landscape of technology enhanced learning. E-Hospital is a project funded by the European Commission in the framework of the programme Socrates/Grundtvig 1. Lifelong learning for all is declared policy aim of the European Union and its member states. One group of adults has been denied access to learning, though: Patients who are forced to spend a longer period at hospital due to severe or chronic illness. The potential benefits of learning activities during hospitalisation are undisputable. Computer-assisted learning has a great potential in this specific educational context. Hospital patients are restricted in their mobility and can therefore profit from being independent on the time-space coordinates of conventional face-to-face learning. Social interaction and joint learning activities with peers become possible with the help of virtual tools.

The European Conference on Games-Based Learning (ECCBL 2008) invites researchers, academics and professionals from games and education to come together to listen, discuss and present their research, points of views and knowledge. Die Pattern Languages of Programs Konferenz, kurz PLoP, ist für alle Patternbegeisterte zentrale Anlaufstelle, um sich zusammenzufinden, zu diskutieren und mehr über Patterns und Softwareentwicklung zu lernen. Während der Writers' Workshops, dem Herzstück der Konferenz, werden papers von weiteren Patternauthoren reviewt und verbessert. Die PLoP beinhaltet darüberhinaus noch Work Groups, Focus Groups, BoF-Sessions und BootCamp, für PLoP-Neulinge.

The 16th International Conference on Computers in Education ICCE 2008 Digital technology is the biggest thrust to change education in this century. Despite being a slow process, technology will ultimately change every aspect of education. In this rapidly growing and by nature interdisciplinary field, research interests are swiftly diverging. Innovative pedagogy design, rigorous scientific studies, and care and concern for humanity are all within our research realm. In response to this emerging diversity, ICCE2008 will be a meta-conference – a conference of multiple, collocated theme-based conferences. On one hand, nurturing theme-based research communities will enhance the identity or sense of belonging of individual researchers in these thematic communities and help cultivate prospective Special Interest Groups in the Asia-Pacific region. They invite you to submit a proposal for the 14th Sloan-C International Conference on Online Learning: “The Power of Online Learning: Improving Learning in a Networked World.” The conference strongly encourages proposals that reflect the implications for the field of specific e-learning experience and practices.
