The European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction (EARLI) is an international, scientific community with the primary goal to support an active research culture in the field of learning and instruction. EARLI promotes and supports research initiatives between internationally active researchers, such as Special Interest Groups (SIGs), Advanced Study Colloquia (ASC) and the EARLI Centre for Innovative Research (E-CIR). It also aims to stimulate young researchers to engage with senior researchers through its JURE network.

Theme

Thinking Tomorrow's Education: Learning from the past, in the present and for the future.
In times of constant changes, the future is a moving target - difficult to predict and prepare for. Yet, education is doing just that. At the 18th Biennial EARLI Conference and the accompanying 23rd Conference of the Junior Researchers of EARLI, researchers in learning and instruction from all over the world come together to discuss current research findings. In order to think tomorrow’s education and education research, it is crucial to relate new findings to what we already know and elaborate how this will help foster sustainable learning processes and navigating what is yet to come.

10 - 11 August 2019
The JURE 2019 Pre-Conference invites Junior Researchers from around the world to engage in compelling discussions on "Junior Researchers Thinking Tomorrow's Education". JURE 2019 offers early career researchers a first academic conference experience, and the opportunity to meet colleagues from across the globe.

12 - 16 August 2019
The 18th Biennial EARLI Conference will be hosted by RWTH Aachen, Germany. We encourage participants to present results and ideas on state-of-the-art research in learning and instruction, specifically around the topic "Thinking Tomorrow's Education: Learning from the past, in the present and for the future".

Early Bird Deadline: 3 April 2019
