Media & Learning Conference 2022

02.06.2022, 09:00 Uhr - 03.06.2022, 18:00 Uhr

Events over the past 2 years have accelerated a process that had already begun – to re-think the structure, purpose and operation of universities and all higher education institutions to better fit the future. Re-thinking means reviewing and adapting all aspects of university life including the place and best use of media-supported strategies and the role and position of the services that support a move to more student-centred design and delivery of learning.

About the Conference

The annual Media & Learning Conference has taken place in Belgium since 2010, each time bringing together over 300 innovators, developers, researchers and practitioners from all over the world and particularly from Europe for a two-day face-to-face event, packed with talks, demonstrations, discussions and activities. Each of these face-to-face events has had a specific theme related to the use of media in support of learning and since 2018, these conferences have specifically targeted the Higher Education Sector. These events have also included a busy exhibition area, where leading manufacturers and suppliers have used the event to show their latest products and services and to engage directly with their target customers.

The Media & Learning Association

The Media & Learning Association (MLA) or to give it its full name the MEDEA: MEDIA & LEARNING ivzw is an international, not-for-profit association set up in 2012 under Belgian law to promote and stimulate the use of media as a way to enhance innovation and creativity in teaching and learning across all levels of education in Europe. Members include national and regional agencies charged with the promotion of innovation in teaching and learning as well as universities, ministries of education and schools’ networks. Media & Learning runs online and face-to-face events and conferences as well as webinars on different topics. Media & Learning also organises the annual MEDEA Awards which recognises excellence in the use of media to support teaching and learning as well as several bespoke projects and special interest groups related to specific sub-themes.
