Open Knowledge Festival 2014

“Open Minds to Open Action”: The OKFestival 2014 will be a big open data and open knowledge event. It will be global, inclusive and participatory. The organisation expects it to create a significant local and international surge of innovation. Organised by the Open Knowledge Foundation and owned, in the broadest sense, by the open community, the festival will bring together over 1,000 people from more than 60 countries to share their skills and experiences; encouraging them to work together to build the very tools and partnerships that will further the power of openness as a positive force for change. In addition, the festival will be an opportunity to celebrate anything the open movement has achieved so far, and an opportunity to plan and shape the landscape ahead. The programme for the 2014 edition of the festival will be built around sessions submitted by the international open community which enables and creates this change from Open Minds to Open Action. This festival will provide the ideal opportunity for the open movement to come together to co-create the roadmap that will guide its next steps, and will offer multiple opportunities for festival-goers to engage in the discussion and with each other. Ther new extended session proposals submission deadline is March 30, 2014.
